Colbeck Capital Management, a New York City-based strategic lender, has a history of giving back to the community by supporting charities and non-profit organizations. Jason Colodne, a long-time supporter of the CTF, tells us that donations are the key to enabling the organization’s researchers to develop cures and help the children living with NF. Colbeck Capital Management has donated and organized fundraisers on behalf of the Children’s Tumor Foundation via participation in various events, including organizing a cycling team to ride on behalf of the CTF.
The Children’s Tumor Foundation Founded in 1978, the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) began as the first grassroots organization solely dedicated to finding treatments for NF. Today, CTF is a highly recognized national nonprofit foundation, the leading force in the fight to end NF, and a model for other innovative research endeavors with a mission to “Drive Research, Expand Knowledge, and Advance Care for the NF Community.” The Children’s Tumor Foundation is a highly recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding effective treatments for the millions of people worldwide living with neurofibromatosis (NF), a family of three distinct disorders: NF1, NF2, and schwannomatosis. NF causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and may lead to blindness, deafness, bone abnormalities, disfigurement, learning disabilities, disabling pain, and cancer. NF affects 1 in every 3,000 births across all populations equally. There is no cure yet—but as the leading organization in the fight to end NF and as a model of innovative research endeavors, the Children’s Tumor Foundation’s mission of driving research, expanding knowledge, and advancing care for the NF community fosters our vision of one day ending NF.
